Braino and the Horse rank the 20 best NBA SuperCoach cheapies under $7 million for the 2026-27 season, sorting every rookie and bargain into must haves, good options, role isn't there yet and strong…
But let's dive into the cheapies, mate, and I think we'll start with AJ Dobanstar, number one pick in the draft.
Obviously, everybody is going to naturally gravitate towards the number one pick in the draft to kick things off.
And at this point in time, as of recording, he is the most owned player in Supercoach, 66% of players said uh starting with him it's hard to argue against it but i know you've tried
i've tried and probably pretty unsuccessfully too been put in my place a couple of times and that's okay that's why we're here for to uh to discuss our options for nba super coach this year do i think he's a must-have i still don't think so do i think he's a good option absolutely
yeah i look i can get around it i don't I don't know whether he's a must-have either, and it might be a little bit spicy considering he's in my team right now.
I haven't taken him out of my team, but I can get around the idea of not starting with him only just because of the sheer volume of shots or lack of that might come to him early on.
In saying that, though, Trae's always been really good at getting his team involved.
He's a great passer, he's a great facilitator, and it's more just a matter for me of whether De Benster's game suits Trey and how they're going to play.
Obviously, Anthony Davis is great in the post, in the mid-range.
Di Banster's game lives in the mid-range and he's really good downhill in transition, but struggles on the perimeter.
So do you see that fitting in nicely in Washington or do you reckon it'll take time?
It'll take time.
So given that he will struggle on the perimeter and that he has got that nice mid-range game, you've got two bigs in Saar and Davis.
I won't say clogging the paint, but they'll be living in the mid-range.
And then you've got Trae Young, who he's going to take a lot of shots from outside as well.
And yes, he will facilitate through the pick and roll and what have you, but his open shots are going to be where defenders drop and Trae Young gets it out to him.
His ISO ball, however...
To start with, I think we'll be few and far between, but as the season goes on, I think you'll see the volume get a big uptick.
I think
also to
add to that,
Doban Star had a lot of impact with the ball in his hand, but really struggled to cement or insert himself into games when he was playing off ball, which is obviously what he's going to have to do, right? That's
right.
i can get around good option just to spice things up and kick things off not a must-have but definitely a guy that we'll see in you know two-thirds of teams at the moment basically uh let's move on to a guy i think we can pretty much agree as a must-have is cameron boozer uh 5.15 million he's 60.8 owned that is 40 too low for me in my opinion uh boozer with the opportunity that he's got in memphis he'll start at the four spot He's got a great game on both ends of the ball.
