Khaman Maluach

I was gonna say, I always appreciate when, uh, when you or Steven or whatever is like tweeting about Maluach in the G League.

I'm like, "This is what we need more of."

Well, let's talk about Maluach, right? Because th- this is, this is the big conversation right now, you know.

The, the show's branded around the stupid ass crap about Devin Booker and the Warriors that literally came from nowhere and we talked about last week.

But really the conversation right now in Suns land is Mark Williams, because Mark Williams tears his labrum and-

Yeah, it's brutal

... it's, it, I mean, honestly just so sad.

Not great to see at all.

All eyes are on you, Camon Maluach.

I think he's a good player.

I think he's gonna not necessarily be, like, a star or anything like that, but he's gonna be one of the more impact guys coming out of year two, and he's gonna have so much opportunity.

Defensively, I think he'll never be elite.

But he can rebound, good play finisher off your guards when they're healthy.

Like, we know what he is, right? Does it impact their, like, playoff chances to you if they're gonna have to do Maluach starter for a while and then wait for him to come back?

If Maluach is ready, then I don't think it would have much of an impact, 'cause remember, like, last year they went off mo- most of the year without someone like Jalen Green and they got off by Dillon Brooks isolation hoops, barely getting 20 a game, you know? And I think that's, they'll be perfectly fine as long as Maluach and he's, like, ready to be, give you the same level of production or maybe, like, 10% worse.

Um, second to last round maybe.

The next player, kind of in an identical situation, Karman Maluach, who was impressive in Summer League.

Barely played last season.

Let's get down here.

Uh, 46 games for Maluach, nine minutes a game, three and three with .7 blocks.

So again, if you're looking at those numbers, no reason to be drafting him.

But if you watched Summer League, you would know that he should, I'm not saying he will, but he should be the backup center over, uh, Iguodala, who played that role last season.

Like, he was serviceable, but certainly not mind-blowing.

But before that, first off, talk about the birthday boy.

Kamon Malawach, not a teenager anymore.

Happy 20th birthday to Kamon Malawach.

Big things ahead for him.

And when we talk about him in this next decade of his life as an NBA player, he has a big opportunity.

Makes sense.

I'm at like a solid six and a half right now.

So that's just with the baseline of my expectations of Kamon, Knowing what I'm expecting to see consistently from Oso and what Miles Bridges and the other small ball guys that I've watched stuff on, what I feel like they can do in the short term.

He's out for a while.

So it'll be Maluach, who looked really good, really good in Summer League, and Oso from Marquette.
