Okay, we're going to start off with some of the more basic questions here, which is what the heck is the Triple Crown?

So the Triple Crown of hiking is the three long-distance trails in America that are arguably the most famous.

The Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail.

So does that mean that somebody can be a Triple Crowner and have hiked the trails in sections or one must through-hike the trails?

But plenty of people that we surveyed here did a section hike of either one or all three of the trails.

One, I think most importantly, Aldo West is the organization that gives out the Triple Crown certificate.

Especially the later we get, the more common it is or the more inevitable it is to have to section hike the PCT because of fire closures.

Seems like anyone who gets really worked up over people through hiking or section hiking is probably just splitting hairs because they're maybe a little insecure in their own achievements.

No, as we progress further into climate change, how like a true through hike of the PCT becomes ever increasingly more impossible as we're seeing with the PCT this year and the last whatever 40 miles of the trail being closed.
