Because you don't build up, this is who this person is, and this is what's going on.
the character is and what their goal is right from the beginning and it's kind of it's like right in the middle of action is when you start
yes so we start the book we meet jackson van and he is at the time he's like the head man for the head team like the golden sun basically and they've just basically gotten to their um like their championship finals pretty much they locked themselves into one more game where they get to compete for the championship and so he's coming in you you just drop right in the middle you see he's really kind of favored at the time except for his captain who treats him badly but that's a different a different sort of story in there um But yeah, so he starts from a place of, you know, a lot more privilege, he gets to see a lot of good things.
And that is what carries him through when he ends up getting dumped to the dregs from the heights is really to him, it has always been about the guys that he takes the arena with.
And then we have the Golden City and the Iron City, which are basically two different universities within the same sport.
