What does it look like to serve the Lord with gladness, trust that He is good, and keep showing up even when you don’t understand what He is doing? In episode 100, Zach, Jill, and Brandon reflect on…
No, we...
but I think I was reading the text and I'm just, I was like in it.
I was like, yeah, what? Like this culture that we've all bought into it of like, we're just going to like, it's like reproductive health, but when it's really like to stop the reproduction.
Yeah.
So it's actually not reproductive health.
It's a lot bigger conversation.
Um, I'm not quite ready to have that yet, but there is a, there is something like the church needs to start to have a conversation with Genesis one 28 about fruitful multiplication and then how we have adopted, uh, the the world's view that children are are are liabilities children are a drag children are you know i mean there's something to that
well remember one of the very first conversations we had on this podcast the phrase that we kept using over and over again was life work versus death work yeah and a death work when we talk about sin it's not just something that's bad because God says it's bad.
It is that, and we trust him even if we don't understand.
But another way to understand God's commandments is, does it lead to life and flourishing and generations, or does it lead to death and turn in on itself as an end in itself? And if you think about cutting off reproduction...
and turning it just into pleasure for the sake of myself versus being open to life being produced, I mean, that is the conversation.
Again, it's a bigger conversation, and I know we didn't want to go into
that.
Yeah, we're going to go out with a bang and
say, follow us.
Our vasectomy is sinful.
Well, it's interesting that we had a conversation last night after house church.
We had – A bunch of people stayed after, which, by the way, I got to say this.
We started house church when we were in college.
And it's a lot of work to open your home up.
And there's been seasons where we've done it well.
There's been seasons where we felt very overwhelmed with it.
And so I think our whole church collectively is like we've like we had an initiative with this last launch, which was two weeks ago, three weeks ago, that we're going to call the body into participation now.
of like pulling this thing off.
And so, um, Jill got up at our house church and she was the one that said, okay, here's the deal.
No, we...
