I saw you recently at karaoke, of all places, and I noticed that you were wearing a shirt that said F La Migra.
And I wear the T-shirt because it's really, really important to me to let everyone know how much I hate ice.
I know a lot of people are... figuring out how they feel about ice for the first time.
But as you mentioned, I have been on the front lines of this in New Mexico for almost 20 years.
My first encounter with ice was when I was working at our free elementary school 20 years ago, and we had our first big scare in Santa Fe with someone getting arrested by ICE.
And that was the first moment where I said to myself, why do we have to have a federal force that comes and rips families apart and scares children? And so I've been wearing that t-shirt for about 10 years and people love to ask me about it.
And I love to talk about it because I want to remind them that we don't have to have ICE in our country.
