Arlene Is Alone with Chantal Kreviazuk

my dad a post I saw the other day I don't I don't send him a lot of things but he's blowing my mind too because he's an eastern European he's a Ukrainian farmer guy right raised in a little tiny farmhouse with 12 other kids and What my father accomplished in his life is utterly mind-blowing.

At the same time, he's a white guy, so I can still tell him he started at the end of the marathon.

But I can't take away what a phenomenal work ethic he has.

He's truly a typical astounding Ukrainian story.

I don't expect that I'm going to tell my dad how to be or to change.

He's 86 years old.

But I will send him the odd thing with regard to this work of equity and the patriarchy.

And he has been so proud in Along for the Ride.

I mean, he loved our documentary.

He never said a word.

You know, he loved it when I sang the anthem.

And his old buddies were saying, why is your daughter changing the anthem? And he says, well, because that idiot is, you know, it's so cute.

But I think it's challenging for him, right? Because there's certain ways to be from that generation.

And then it's like his daughter's not.

It's partly his fault.

It's like, Dad, you sent me to a private girl school.

I never even heard of the patriarchy.

So this is kind of, you created this monster.

And everybody is educated slightly differently, even within a family unit, right? People...

So what is interesting is I sent him this post in which a man will want his wife to be polite and graceful and gracious and elegant, but he'll want his daughter to be a bad-ass boss biatch.

And I looked at that and it just jumped out at me.

I thought, oh my God, this is my dad.

To some degree, it's probably my husband, too.

So I sent it to him, and he just responded beautifully.

He just said, wow.
