Doug, as you pointed out, really kind of four mini stories as we're kind of following Jesus through life.

Through some teachings, through some questions, some confrontations with the Pharisees, and even a really remarkable healing at the end there as well.

I think there's a good thing about the clip that Ryan selects us to go through these books, where our commitment is to expository preaching.


And if you slow down too much, It has a tendency to make them into like mini topical sermons, you know, where you have a text and, you know, you can and you go for a long time just bring drawing in things from all over the place.

The calling of Levi, the controversy about fasting, the controversy about picking heads of grain on the Sabbath, and then the healing man with the blithered hand.

You get a good idea about like where Mark is going, why he's placing things side by side and the message that he's telling.

And so I think that's kind of like a good sweet spot where like you're seeing trees, but you're also seeing the forest.

I had never heard, it might be common knowledge, Levi and Matthew being the same person.
