And having a look at these teams, one of the first things that you notice, Brynner, is Cody Taylor, right? Like, you know, I, I'm not sure anyone was really expecting Cody Taylor to be out, but, you know, it, it doesn't seem like too bad of a call.
No, look, and I think I'm not too sure around if there was injuries or if Dave Rennie actually did come on.
But look, if you do look around Asafa Moa's involvements, even by look at that Irish test match, of how good he was around that test match when Cody did go off, and I think the impacts and involvements that he's had off the bench have been tremendous and a, such a, an impact for us being able to get over the advantage line.
So I think with him and Tokiaho, Semisoni, I think that one-two punch around being able to get over the advantage line will be a very big asset with Cody not being there.
So, um, yeah, very, very deserving and, like I said, I'm not too sure what the goal was with Cody with injury or, or anything like that, but I actually just see it as a one-two punch.
You're gonna get exactly the same from Semisoni Tokiaho coming off the bench in the last 20, 30 minutes or whenever they want him to bring him on.
They kinda struggled for that at times last week, eh? And I mean, those two guys are two of the most effective guys in the whole country to get that gain line through the middle.
You know, and Cody, he-- I suppose he's made more of a name for himself as a wide runner, hasn't he? A, a guy who's out, you know, on, on the edges more maybe than being a guy who's taking the big carries through the middle like those two have made a name for themselves for.
And I think when, um, Asafa Moa has come off the bench the last two games, he's had a massive impact in and around that space.
I think even Xavier Numia was really good around him coming on in the second half in that second test match.
So yeah, like I said, obviously with Cody's experience, it's one thing that you do miss, and being in the cauldron and in a big test match, you, you can't buy that experience.
But Asafa Moa and Semisoni have been there a long time now and understanding what Cody's routine is, or they've played enough footy to know what that's gonna look like.
Um, and they'll, they'll be excited, right? Being able to be in the-- more so the decide or the big test match with it being 1-1, and seeing how they can test themselves against probably Malcolm Marx, who we don't know if he's gonna be 44 minutes, 80 minutes, 12 minutes, 77 minutes.
We don't know what it's gonna be, but yeah, great challenge I think for those two boys, and they'll be loving it and be ready to go for it.
That's hilarious, eh? I mean, the, the [chuckles] when you look at that 23, and we're like, "Oh, so is it the same as last week?" And when you see the 22 they named, it looks pretty much the same, but it's nothing like the 23 that necessarily [chuckles] started last week.
So reading into that 23 and how it's going to affect the game this weekend and, you know, Dave Rennie and Mike Blair and Jason Ryan, all of the All Black coaches have been asked about this, and all of them are on record saying that they don't take the Monday team naming seriously.
Maybe they weren't expecting changes one hour out, but they, you know, they knew things were gonna be like that.
