Bianca and Julian are back from their European honeymoon, and they've got plenty of stories to tell, music to unpack, and opinions to get off their chests. First up: a recap of their travels across…
I want to start this by saying, I hate that because of kind of when we started recording the podcast and everything, we are just capturing this part of her career because I feel like anytime I get the opportunity to speak about her being one of my favorite artists of all time, like my favorite solo artists of all time, I feel like I'm, critiquing her i feel like i'm nagging i feel like i'm upset with her i feel like i'm embarrassed and i just want to put that out there that if this is your first time listening to the podcast we are massive taylor swift fans and it's because we know how fabulous and how she is the goat she is the gold standard she is the best we
don't have to relitigate it i know i know we you can listen to our life of a showgirl episode you'll hear us talk about how much it's just because i know
we're very defensive in the fan base and so i don't want it to come off that we're just like nagging on her for the sake of it but unfortunately like listening to these really just bummed me the hell out i was just like this was such a colossal misstep in my opinion and i think the right move would have been for her to lay low for a bit maybe put out a wedding photo if you want a little boost of publicity before the grammys and
they're saying
Well, now they're saying her birthday.
December 13th.
But I think she should have just ditched this project entirely and just released that.
Yeah.
Especially now that something like Choose in Texas is so big.
Well,
that's the thing.
She could release vault tracks that compete with that because when she did 1989, Taylor's version, all of the 1989 vault tracks were like, not all of them were number one hits, but they were like top five charting songs, right? She had a number one hit with Is It Over Now? I'm pretty sure.
But it doesn't feel it doesn't feel yeah, it doesn't feel triumphant.
Yeah, I think the the issue is so I also really didn't like these songs.
There are parts of some of these songs that I do like, of
course.
But overall, I thought this was a huge misstep.
Her premise was we were so happy with the life of a showgirl and the reception at God that I went back to Sweden to record four more songs with Max and Shellback.
And this is our thank you to you.
But I don't... why are you doubling down on maybe your worst album maybe something that critics have called your worst album yeah and you know she's saying that she was celebrating the the chart success or whatever but she could sing she could sing the phone book and she would probably get a number one album like that's not the point the point is the substance and the content wasn't there with Life of a Showgirl, and she basically doubled down on it by giving us more garbage, in my opinion.
And
it just feels very hollow coming from her, as, like, people accuse you, you know, of being, like, a boring, blonde, Barbie billionaire, and you have so much money and all these things, and it's like...
Why are you so hung up on the numbers of it all? Of being like, you guys blew this up on the charts.
