The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0 after surviving a wild Week 1 battle with the Washington Commanders, 24-22, at Lincoln Financial Field! AATBirds breaks down everything from the season opener…
So I think the first thing I want to start with is the offense with you.
We've talked about it time and time this year leading up in the offseason, the new offensive coordinator, the new scheme, everything that we were expecting and what we wanted to see with it.
Yeah.
The third one was a beautiful pass in the corner of the end zone on Vontavian Wicks, three touchdown passes.
He was 14 and 25 for 203 yards, 46 rushing yards, one humongous third and 18 conversion on the run.
He did it.
And, you know, if you didn't have that performance that he did put out in the field on Sunday.
Yes.
Were there a little bit of some lapses and stuff like that? There was also a lot of pressure.
So you got to look that you got to take that into account.
But if Jalen was not out there, you don't win the game because he played at the level you need him to play to come away with the victory.
100%.
I think anybody who was watching that game and wanted Tanner McKee to replace Hertz at one point, there's no way you can watch that game and go, Tanner would have been better.
Any other quarterback, like you said, any other quarterback that doesn't have the pocket like uh presence that that he had that the hertz had there were some plays where it was like people are gonna like shrug when i say this and probably have ptsd but there were times where it reminded me of like 17 lengths where i was like oh it's a sack and then all of a sudden he like skedaddles out of it um and like that third and that third and 16, third and 18, whatever it was.
Like, that was another good example of where I was like, ah, dude, busted play.
And then you just saw it and took off.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Huge block.
He didn't have the best of a statistical day, but that was a – I mean, he pancaked the dude.
He took him off his feet.
Really cool to see a rookie get in there and get dirty to protect his quarterback and get the first down.
