Sydney Brown

AJ Terrell made his return a couple of weeks back and he looks fully healthy now.

So hopefully that will be a boost in this matchup, which has been a, an electric matchup in the past between these two and then C.J. Henderson appears to have taken over the other outside slot across from Terrell it used to be manned by Mike Hughes but Hughes has been having a rough season we'll see how they end up playing it but it looks like C.J. Henderson may have taken over that job and then Billy Bowman their slot corners back in there they do like to play Sidney Brown as like a third safety in the slot sometimes two against more run heavy teams but As we've discussed, probably not going to be the week that you're going to see a ton of Sidney Brown with this Bengals passing game.

But yeah, I mean, how are they doing it? Is this still a team that runs a lot of 11? Or you mentioned a lot of tight ends.

Is this a team that's got more 12 going on than in years past?

He can be one of those guys who, at the end of a game, gives you that one little, like, impact play, and then you're able to ride out with a victory, right? And listen, Aaron, like, Jeff Obrick, Justin Hood, they did what they could with what they had in his absence.

I mean, Sidney Brown, he had to get more defensive snaps.

A.J. Terrell had to shift here and there to nickel in Billy Bowman's absence.

But again, you want...

A.J. Terrell playing where A.J. Terrell plays naturally.

And you want Sidney Brown to be in there either in certain situations or here and there.

You don't want him to be in that starting position.

So, yeah, guy like Billy Bowman, you kind of want to see him back in action this week, if at all possible.

Now, Billy Bowman was inactive, as I mentioned earlier.

So Sidney Brown was the primary slot defender.

But with all the running, he only played 23% of the snaps.

So he didn't get much utilization as a slot cornerback.

They, um, they were in a lot of base this week, obviously, um, matching up with the bucks, heavy personnel usage.

So, you know, they do like to play a nickel a little bit more helps them have Sydney Brown on the field more as one of their, uh, better tacklers.

Um, you know, I don't, you know, some people say, well, you know, should, should Watts have been pulled for DeMarco Hellams in this kind of game? I don't, I don't know what that would have done.

Like, I, I think that you know, I think Helms is big hits or what people think of, but I don't think they, you know, focus on his process much.

Keanu Benton, Zach Charbonnet, Rishi Rice, Tyreek Stevenson, John Michael Smits, Sirens Torrance, Marvin Ames,

Tyler Steen, Sidney Brown.

Rodley Moss.

Okay.

Darius Cooper, same thing.

In the offseason, you lose Sidney Brown, you lose Kylan Granson, Cameron Lott, who waved, EJ Jenkins, who was the second highest snap total, who had the second highest snap total.

He's no longer there.

So Michael Clay is having to piece this together.

So I think these 10 games are really a great opportunity to kind of evaluate whether or not he's the answer to that.

And if he's not, then, hey, you just go into next offseason being like, we still got to solve this problem and we can bump Avion Terrell back to the inside and share that role with Billy Bowman, as well as potentially Sidney Brown of the Falcons, choose to keep him and all that sort of stuff.

But in the meantime, if you're looking for a reason to, you know, keep Mike Hughes employed and giving him reps, Nichols probably the best spot for him just because he's not going to be going up against the big fast wide receivers as much that can expose some of those limitations that we're talking about.

And the one thing that you can say about Mike Hughes is he can tackle.
