The two sides basically come to a number that has been, um, we've talked about quite a bit on this show for ...

I, I don't like taking victory laps when people sign things and everything like that, because if you're gonna take victory laps, I feel like then you also have to go and own up to the mistakes you make, and not enough people do that.

But this is, we had Kyle Stitch on a month and a half ago, I think it was, and Kyle had kind of put this number at 12 million for Robertson spot on.

And, um, and I think the Stars were ready for that too, if you look at the cap space they have and the things they left, that it was what they set up too.

Um, I do know from my un- from my quick reporting understanding from what I've been told, there was a bit of the, "We both know where this is gonna go, so what's the point in ...

Why do we both, why do we need to fly to Toronto to do this?" And that was kind of my understanding for how it got done.

So I wanna talk about some other people's reaction to it, because that's been really interesting to read the tea leaves on what others have said.

But I wanna stick here first, Robert, and just you see the deal get done, you heard Jim speak today.

Um, it was interesting that he acknowledged that it was a good thing, he thought, in his opinion-

I tried to, uh, bait him a little bit with a, with a joke about working on a Saturday, which I think our pal Steven Mazur came in with first the other day.

Um, but, but he did acknowledge that being in a room, the way, the way he described it, I won't give you the full quote, but he said basically when you're there and your job is to expose some faults in the player to bring their value down for the case you're making in arbitration, and you have lawyers and management and everyone stacked up, like, physically on different sides of the room.
