On this episode of Agent Provocateur, Allan Walsh and Adam Wylde are back for season 6! They chat about the deals that went down this summer, how far the cap may rise, local TV rights, and more!…
Um, uh, now let's talk a little bit about hockey and some of the things that you know, might be going, you know, that are probably in your day-to-day already, Alan, and that, you know, might be crossing some of your clients' minds now, especially as we're getting real close to camps opening.
And I want to ask you this question, and I like asking you this at the end of every summer.
Was there a single day this summer where you didn't get an NHL-related phone call?
Was there a single day this summer where you got less than two NHL-related phone calls? Yes.
But there was some time when I was over in Europe where I could see people were calling and they hear the European ringtone.
Somebody would be calling and say, oh, he's in Europe and hang up before I could answer or I did answer.
So you're constantly getting, there was there, let me amend my answer while I had less than two calls, but greater than zero every, at least every day in the summer, there wasn't a day where I wasn't at least five to 10 text messages.
And so, and you know, Alan, where I get messages trying to get in touch with you, people who want to be agents you know if you really do want to be one be prepared for that life right that's something that that is a that's inherent
it's it's not a job you know i just met somebody had reached out to me um um and and asked if i would meet his son for coffee and i went and did that recently here in la and he really wants to be an agent he's interned with agencies and in other sports and he was just asking you know my approach and what my life is like and asking a lot of questions and You know, I remember saying to him and I remember thinking this, too.
