This week’s Sinister Sightings is packed with creepy listener stories, paranormal experiences, and one story that goes completely off the rails. We’re heading to the allegedly haunted Road to Nowhere…
Okay, jumping into the first one: "Hey, y'all.
Kate, with a C, again.
Just wanted to give another suggestion to something I have personally been to.
Short rundown, it's a road with absolutely nothing on it for six miles.
Fun tidbit, there's also a sign stating a high school name, and directly under that it says Road to Nowhere as directions towards the road, and it looks like it says 'High school is a road to nowhere.'"
[laughs]
"At the end of the road is a blocked-off-for-vehicles tunnel that's approximately a quarter to half a mile long.
The road was intended to be a bypass to family burial grounds for many, and many families were displaced.
It's also called The Road of Broken Promises, and it was a government decision and promise to have this road built and was halted due to World War II.
I forget the whole story, but it's honestly a very cool place to go.
To get to the tunnel, it's a little bit of a walk from a small parking lot, but it's worth it.
There's a little trail once you go through the tunnel where hikers and horse riders go, but it's not paved.
In the tunnel there's no lights, no staff, et cetera.
Just an overall really cool place.
It's wet in the majority of the tunnel during certain times of the year and highly decorated with graffiti and many phallic drawings.
If you go, take at least one source of light and good watertight shoes.
I've personally not experienced anything paranormal there, but I still get a little bit of the heebie-jeebies every time I go.
It's also known for being one of the most haunted roads in the US.
I've been at least three times and have taken friends there.
There's a lot more history to it, but I encourage research on it and a visit with respect.
Thanks for your amazing selves.
