But this is like, you know, in the middle of nowhere up near the Smokies.

So I don't know.

But those things that creep me out, too.

Yeah, absolutely.

And I'm kind of the same way.

My dad was a scientist out at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, but my mother and her family were from the Cades-Covery, the Smokies.

So I had the science and the superstition and a healthy dose of each.

Well, hey, it's Dolly, and I am so honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.

I mean, roots music, or what is now called Americana music, is what I grew up playing back in the Smoky Mountains.

Dolly said it was that music that, quote, changed the course of her career.

Looking back at it all, I see this era of my career as a musical renaissance of sorts.

How are you? I'm good.

I'm just I was intrigued about the Smoky Mountains.

You know, she sings about the Smoky Mountains.

Yeah.

So they are located along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina in the southeastern United States.

Yeah, I'd love to go.

I'd love to go.

Like, the Smoky Mountains.

I think I can handle an inch of snow here and there.

So, I mean, it definitely was cold, especially in the Smokies.

We had a little bit of snow.

I was just up in the Smokies with my daughter in, I think it was November and I'm blanking on the name of it.

It was, it was just past Fontana Dam, maybe 10, 15 miles.

It's a beautiful area hiking through there.

And I want to thank everybody at the AMA for recognizing me with this award.

But yeah, most of my hands-on paranormal was in the United States and in Europe, Southeast Europe.

In my two main books that I've written about my paranormal experiences, Seeing is Believing and Haunting of 63 Maple Street, that stuff took place from everywhere from the high desert of Arizona to the Great Smoky Mountains to the Hoosier Forest in Indiana to Kapatski Reet out in Croatia and Slavonia.

So, you know, yeah.

Just all over

Across the world.

Did you hear about the story Dolly told about where she was from in Tennessee, Smoky Mountains? Up there in the Smoky Mountains, this place had a bear.

That they kept in a cage.

Mm-hmm.

Sure enough, you start to see them changing color and leaves falling.

The Smoky Mountains were highlighting the fact that, hey, we're starting to see some different colors in the trees.

So come on out.
