God The Holy Spirit - Lesson 11 - The Holy Spirit and Conversion - Richard Massey

Hope that we'll all wanna use our Bibles tonight and turn to Titus chapter 3.

First of all, we'll read verses 5 and 6.

Now, tonight we're gonna talk about the Holy Spirit and conversion.

The Holy Spirit and conversion, and that's our subject, and I think it's going to fit so well with the other lesson given tonight by Brother Taylor.

We're gonna talk about conversion, but we're gonna talk about the Holy Spirit's role in conversion.

There should be no question in our minds that the Holy Spirit is involved in salvation of men's souls.

Read with me this passage from Titus chapter 3, verses 5 and 6.

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior." What is that passage about? It's about being saved.

He has saved us.

How? By the washing of regeneration and by the renewing of the Holy Spirit.

Now, the Holy Spirit is involved in our conversion or our salvation, and we ought to be convinced of that.

There is no question about that.

I don't believe that anybody doubts that or denies that, whether they're on the right-hand side of the truth or on the left-hand side of the truth, or for those of us who are standing squarely on the truth, that the Holy Spirit is involved in our salvation.

Not only is the Holy Spirit involved in our salvation, but so is God the Father.

In 2 Peter chapter 1 and verse 9, speaking of God, it says, "Who hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our own works, but according to his own purpose and grace which he has given us in Jesus Christ before the world began." God has saved us.

The whole Godhead is involved in our salvation.

Paul would write in 1 Timothy chapter 1 that Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

The entire Godhead is involved in our salvation.

That's not what the question is tonight.

Really, the question is tonight is how.

The Holy Spirit and conversion, and we wanna talk about how he is involved in our salvation, in our conversion.

So we're gonna talk about Holy Spirit and conversion, and we're gonna kinda reverse our title of our lesson, and we're gonna talk about conversion first.

We need to understand what we're discussing when we're discussing conversion of the Holy Spirit or the Holy Spirit being involved in conversion.

And just like all Bible students, we want to follow the Scriptures, and we want to prove all things and hold fast that which is good.

We wanna use our Bibles, and our God's given us our Bibles.

We need to be very familiar with them.

I hope you have your Bible tonight.

I hope you'll always carry your own Bible that you'll use to mark in and take notes in.

Conversion, Holy Spirit and conversion.

What does conversion mean? That's what we're talking about.
