Galatians 5

You are not a son of God if you are not led by His Spirit.

Finally, Galatians 5, 22-23, which reviews the works of the Spirit.

Sorry, the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5, 22-23.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Now, this scripture reveals that the Holy Ghost has a fruit.

Second one, Acts of Apostles chapter 1 verse 8.

Third one, Romans 8 verse 14.

So far, we've talked a lot about one.

The fruit of a disciple of Jesus is, number one, there's two of them, the fruit is the fruits of the Spirit, Galatians 5, 22 and 23.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Against such there is no law.

Today's Freedom Friday.

This is what Galatians 5.1 says.

It says, So Christ has truly set us free.

Now make sure that you stay free and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.

We can't avoid that.

He actually, in Galatians 5, and I'm sorry, but I just read that list.

I'm going to read another one.

What's in Galatians 5, everybody? Anybody know? The fruit of the Spirit, right? It's a song, children's ministry, love, joy, peace, and patience, kind of, right? It always gets me that nobody wants to read about five verses before that.

because in Galatians 5, right before the fruits of the Spirit, now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, idolatry, witchcraft, hostility, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Wow.

That's the fruit of this, this bag of stuff, this flesh that we wear, right? That's what wants to come out.

And the apostolic letters, such as the Sermon on the Mount and apostolic teachings.

Romans 12, Matthew 5, 1 Corinthians 12, Galatians 5, Ephesians chapters 4 through 6.

I love that.

All of Galatians.

Galatians 5, Ephesians 4 through 6.

Saw that last week, too.

The whole chapters on the moral teachings.

I can't afford to enter into the battlefield in my pajamas.

The flip side of this, the encouraging... piece is Galatians 5, which reminds us that self-control is the fruit of the Spirit.

And so by God's grace, this is the fruit of what Jesus came to give us, and that is self-control, even in the use of our phones.

And pray for that.

Revelation 21.8. You're going to burn.
