A senior Ukrainian official told the Kyiv Independent that Ukraine had no information about any such ceasefire and doubted Russia had been informed either.
President Zelensky, speaking to Axios, said this: "Please tell us when the ceasefire begins.
We are ready and we will accept it." He added that Kyiv was awaiting details from the American side.
A Russian lawmaker, Igor Ananiskikh, offered the view that the president often says things to keep oil prices from rising, which is one legislator's opinion, and we give it as that.
And shortly after the announcement, Russian forces struck a power plant in Kharkiv.

Speaking by video to the Warsaw Security Forum, he said this: "In Ukraine, we have just one oil refinery, and it was badly damaged by Russian strikes long, long ago.
What Ukraine wants covered is the power grid." His words again, "We are ready to respect an energy ceasefire if Russia is ready to do the same." An unnamed White House official told Axios that the announcement covers oil refineries only, with a broader grid ceasefire possibly coming later.
