Um, so without trying to make excuses or, or downgrade India's win in any way because they played some brilliant cricket, England had four days in between the first day of that test and the T20 World Cup final while India had a couple of days of prep at Wormsley before starting to build up to Lord's.
Um, so they played a test match earlier this year, while England played their last one 18 months ago.
From an English perspective, I think the disappointing thing is the margin of loss rather than the loss itself.
I think it was a proper drumming, wasn't it? And I think India are pretty good at test cricket, and I think the reason why is because they generally, the way in which they train and approach, like, they have long net sessions.
Um, I think there's a tendency over here and, and sometimes a little bit in Australia, um, and in other countries.
Th- there's obviously players who are, sit outside of that who love mammoth net sessions.
Um, but I do think that they, you know, you, you speak to your Jemimah's, your Smriti's, those kind of players, like they'll train and they will bat for two or three hours.
Like, when we go on a pre-season tour over there, you bat for four or five hours.
Like, I just felt really sorry for the girls actually after the World Cup final to then even, you know, even in the presses after that and the media after that is like, "Oh, there's a test match at Lord's." It's like, oh my gosh.
I, I, even Farron, I remember watching it on the, uh, on comms and she was like, "Oh my God, I can't think about doing a test match." You know, like, even from a commentary perspective because it's been so full on with the World Cup.
