The One In Which the Middleton Siblings Take Center Stage

[upbeat music] Eva, what's on your mind this week royal-wise?

Hmm.

Well, only because this is literally what was in front of my face-

[laughs]

... today, but the photo that Meghan posted on Instagram of her in her closet-

Mm

... with Lilibet.

Mm-hmm.

And all we saw were, like, a bunch of clothes, and she's wearing the purple dress.

And it just made me think, reflect on how she and Harry are just doing utterly different things.

Interesting.

We'll get to this in the first story, but Harry had this piece in the New Statesman, and he also wrote a piece for Time Magazine last week for David Attenborough's 100th birthday.

And she's really sh- starting to show us more glimpses of her family life, what they're up to.

Mm-hmm.

And then Harry's seeming to go into this more traditional royal direction again.

I, I was struck by that photo, too.

I can't exactly put my finger on it, but there was something about the child helping the mother get ready that, I don't know, I didn't love.

Yeah, and I think her caption was something like, "Mommy's little helper."

Mama's little helper.

Mama's little helper, and I, I was-

... also struck by what is she helping with.

Helping her get dressed?

Mm-hmm.

Design her clothing?

Putting some pins in the hem.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, the world wonders.

[laughs] What about you, Allie? What's on your mind?

Oh, well, I had a professional interest in Kate's trip to Italy this week-

Mm-hmm

... where she toured these extremely aesthetic early childhood education classrooms.

And I have to say, and I texted you this, so you know I am not lying.

[laughs]

This is the first time I actually had royal FOMO because that is a trip I would love to take, so I felt jealous.

What about it was something that you felt jealous about?

The region in Italy where Kate visited is studied globally by people in the field of early childhood education because it is a really cool model of community-based education of the community's children.

And to go there is something that a lot of people would like to do.

You could apply to a, a grant to do it.

You could do, you know, training in Italy if, if you were so inclined.

And for her to kinda just pop in on, I think I even read it was called a fact-finding mission-

Uh-huh

... that's, that's pretty good work.

I mean, if you...

That's just a nice thing to be able to do.

Yeah.

And then also, all the pictures.

They looked so nice.

They're just, like, in, in Italy in this beautiful classroom with all these well-dressed kids with beautiful collars making pasta, just, you know.

Lyrical language.

[laughs] Yes.

Yeah, it's so funny.

[laughs] Speaking of pasta, I felt, here she is on a, quote-unquote, "fact-finding mission" to Italy to study this very experimental model of early childhood education, and they still managed to get some pasta-making in there for a photo op.

A trip to Italy wouldn't be a trip to Italy without that.

They're like, "You can't go home without it." So fair enough.

But that, that, that's been on my mind.

[laughs] The only thing missing was Stanley Tucci.

Somehow he managed to not be able to worm his way into that one, surprisingly.

Yeah, he was probably home conferring with Charles on a menu for something that's coming up.
