As the over-60 World Cup draws nearer, final preparations are in place for the England squad.

This month saw them play just the one game against the England Lions over-50 team at Dunmoe Cricket Club in Essex, their final fixture before departing for Toronto.

The Lions were also in action this month with games against the Welsh Dragons, Scotland and the Tories from Western Australia.

The county championship was once again beset by weather issues, with extreme heat and rain causing havoc with the fixtures.

The England men's team had moved on from Ben Stokes and Brendan McCollum, and after an eventful test series against New Zealand, brought some joy back to England supporters by beating the mighty India in the T20 series.

The England women got to the final of the Women's T20 World Cup, owning to be beaten by a hugely impressive Australia side, and created history by playing India at Lords in a test match.

On the personal front, we've had our first download in South America recently, Chile to be precise, so thank you to that person for doing so, which brings the total number of countries where the podcast has been downloaded to, to 27.

England took on the England 0-50 Lions at Dunmoe Cricket Club in Essex, their final match before departing for Toronto, and I'll have the match review.

The Lions were busy this month playing four fixtures, two against the Welsh Dragons, a game against Scotland, and a game against our friends and visitors from Western Australia, and I'll have a quick summary of the results.

fourth round of the over 65 regional competition was completed and i'll run through the results there's another listener question and some very interesting comments from you out there about some of the things our guests last time around trevor lee had to say about the lines and the county championship and there are some pretty strong opinions as well There is another look back in Rash's Reflections and our very special guest this week on the podcast is a writer, commentator and all-round cricket fan, Annie Chave.
