Um, the g- human genome is basically the collection of all information in the DNA that is in each and every one of our cells.

So when the whole genome, first human genome was sequenced, a new science emerged, and that science name was genomics, where basically it's all the things that relate to the human genome-

So because it was like a new suffix for a scientific discipline, the term omics was then co-opted by other fields.

So for instance, if you were working with proteins, and you were looking at all proteins in the human body, the discipline ended up being called proteomics.

If you were looking at how the genome was transcribed to RNA and subsequently to, to things that matter in the cell, you ended up with transcriptomics.

And, uh, I recently had a look, and th- there's over 30 omics terms that are currently-

So, so omics really changes the game because it's, regardless of whatever discipline you're at-
