And we're trying to offer some, you know, frameworks, some ideas, some theology, some ways of thinking about serving our city that have been kind of foundational for Every Neighborhood Partnership.
And a lot of it has come from teachings and things I've received from Randy White, the Dr. Reverend Randy White.
So on this episode, he's gonna be talking about this idea of asset-based community development.
And so together with Carlos Huerta of the Center for Community Transformation, we're gonna explore what that kind of lens, right? A lens that you put on that helps you see your community, your neighborhood, your home, the school that you're around.
And then it's also a way of organizing people to be a part of change together, right? What really stuck with me after this conversation is so much of transformation in our lives and the lives of people around us is all about community.
And so that is a challenge in a busy world that calls us to prioritize other things, to slow down and to just be with.
Um, so I, you know, you're definitely going to hear that challenge and get exposed to that, but, uh, this is a great conversation.
As we've dived into this series, we've launched with some kind of like big overview, some theological reflection from the scriptures.
But the look and the lens is where we're seeing and evaluating like, how would God have us serve our city? Um, for me, as I've mentioned in previous episodes, uh, Randy White has been a mentor of mine and Carlos and I have just been so influenced by his thinking.
And then the ideas that he's brought from other places all throughout the United States and world, um, that we're like, let's just kind of encapsulate some of these foundational principles that I think really have anchored, um, the work and the vision of both EMP and Center for Community Transformation.
And so, On this episode, we're going to dive deeper into asset-based community development.
