WTF with Kat Kuo

right well and I'm kind of curious from like one parent to another it's like you're kind of those those years when you're raising kiddos and sometimes there's that creative deficit and did you go through that what was that like for you

When I was raising my kids, I mean, as an improviser, yes, it had to take a backseat because I first got into improv before I had kids.

And then it was kind of like kid us, interrupt us for a while.

And that was OK.

You know, they needed me more at that time.

And I was also building my freelance career at that time.

So like there was a lot to have on my plate already.

And I've told people this when I've talked to them, like, look, improv will wait for you.

It's okay.

If you are at a period of your life where everything else is crazy, improv loves you, improv will wait.

It's okay.

And so for a while there, you know, I dipped in when I could.

You know, I worked with some wonderful people at Buffalo Improv Group, had a little group that got together and practiced at my house.

My kids grew up watching me slot this craziness into corners of my life.

And they'll be in therapy for that.

Whatever, you have super creative kids now.

I

do.

I do, actually.

I'm real proud of them.

They're amazing.

I love them.

I got one in documentary film and I got one in stage management slash costuming.

So, I mean, I'm not complaining.

I have kids in the arts and I think it's cool.
