She's not Cadian, get it? The post WH40k Book Club Episode #180 – Ghosts of Cadia by Rob Young appeared first on…
Jen BosierHostCarrieHostUh, yes, I did like the book.
Um, not as much as the first book, but, um, but I, but I still really, really enjoyed this one.

I really appreciated some of the narrative choices he made, and I appreciate some of the things he was trying to show us with this book, um, which we'll get into later, especially with like, you know, the concept of leadership and this whole Cadi- the whole Cadian thing.

Anyways, there's like a movie that I always think of, like a obscure movie quote that always comes in here.

"That Sicilian thing." Anyways, um, it, I really, I enjoyed it, but it, it wasn't...
Yep.
Agreed.
Well, the big part that stood out to me, 'cause this is gonna haunt my dreams forever, is how Nordrum and Maren died.
Or went out.
I mean, part of it's because I was devastated that Maren died, but how they went out, not cool at all.

You know what's kind of funny? It just dawned on me that we were talking about how we don't really have a good thematic book for October this year, and I understand that it's the end of September that we're recording this, but we'll be posting it in October, and you had said, you were like, "Oh, Ghosts of Cadia.

Eh, not really," right? But yeah, that is kind of horrific for Halloween season, isn't it?
Uh, yeah.
I also, going the same thing, the, uh, when Olan was summoning the storm, I kind of cracked up how Avrastos brought him back, 'cause like that was the only thing you could think of was by chopping off his fingers? [laughs] Really?
