Scott Mason of the Play Like A Jet podcast joins Pete Hoffman as they talk about what could be a season changing game up in New England. Do the Jets have what it takes to beat the Patriots and go on a…

Um, you know, uh, to g- have the interception streak finally be broken, uh, made that comfortable, and just the turnovers have actually started to come.

I know last week it, it was obviously with the, you know, the, the, the weather kinda helped, too, but that sealed-

the game with, with, uh, you know, a huge fumble at the end of the game and, and, and the Jets recover it.

But do you feel like there is a comfort level now with this Jets defense and that Aaron Glenn now calling the defensive plays...

And to be fair, they didn't look all that great to start the season, but you can see now that the, the defense is, is, at least to me, seems like they're finding a stride and, and it, and, and Aaron Glenn actually did find a superpower.
[laughs] Well, it's funny, I think the Patriots are gonna be an interesting test.
The Bears game they got, you know, hammered from pillar to post, but I think if you look at this defense you see a, a roster filled with players that raised the floor in the off-season, right? So they brought in guys like Tavondre Sweat and Demario Davis came back for the 42nd time, and you brought in Minkah Fitzpatrick, right? And Dane Belton from the Giants and, and players like that Who helped raise the floor, and David Bailey, another one.
But, uh, do you necessarily see anybody on that defense who's gonna be a Pro Bowler or an, or an All-Pro? And I don't know that you do.
I mean, yeah, it's possible that if Bailey keeps this up, or maybe Minkah Fitzpatrick, if he stays healthy, it's not out of the realm of possibility, but there's no locks for that.
And so when you look at guys like Azaria Thomas really starting to come into his own.
They're really starting to mold that defense out, and the big Achilles heel has been consistent pressure.
They got pressure against Tennessee, and they were able to win that one easily.
That's something that, that I think has to start coming more regularly, but I think if you look at the roster that they have defensively, they've definitely been punching above their weight class.
I had said that I was hoping they would be a top 20 defense, and obviously, statistically, they've been significantly better than that.
Over the course of the season, it'll ebb and flow, but I, I think Aaron Glenn, you know, you can say whatever you want to about him overall, but I think for the most part, he's done pretty well with the defense.
