HR 2 WEEI Football Sunday - Is a moral victory the best thing we can hope for today?

Let's begin with, uh, some Patriots related audio.

Uh, one of Jermaine Wiggins' former teammates, Steve Smith, one of his, uh, arch nemesis, uh, actually in the past, came out in support of Drake May this week.

Uh, we can hear from Steve Smith.

There are so many things about this offense.

We want to throw everything on Drake Maye.

Go.

You're running a two, three-man route combination.

We got seven DBs out there, and all of a sudden it's either quick screen or it's long developing with very few options.

The problem is we want to diagnose and we want to sit there and evaluate Drake Maye, but the offense is sick.

We gotta d- we gotta get some medicine, some tussin.

We gotta get some tussin-

[laughs]

... to the offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, who I love.

But I think they put way too much on his plate, started over and said, "Hey, here you go."

Mm.

"Get it done." He has to be perfect.

It is impossible for a young quarterback to be perfect when you already have changed everything in the offense that he did well last year.

You say, "Okay, let's, let's give him the, let's give him a, a shrink manageable playbook." Now, all of a sudden, "Hey, you got all these pages.

Study up, son.

See you on Sunday."

I think we're-

I, I am curious where everybody stands on-

[laughs]

... like I'm a big fan of full plates.

Plate of pie is how I prefer.
