Disney Cruise Line or Royal Caribbean? It’s one of the biggest questions families ask when choosing a cruise, and the answer isn’t as simple as you might think. This week, we’re putting Disney Cruise…
Just as a quick note, when we were comparing head-to-head, we were talking about Royal's newest ships, like the Icon, the Oasis-class ships, not like their very first grander of the sea, because they're completely different.
Because usually people, when they sell, they want the bigger and the newest and the best ships.
So those older ships have a time and a place.
But we're not welcoming them as like 30 different ships.
Right.
I mean, I think and that's one of the things like as we kind of jump into it, I'll just jump right into the fact that we're talking about the ships.
The newer ships are essentially floating resorts that have all of these different things.
We'll talk about like tons of different activities, pools, huge variety of dining and entertainment.
It's a lot about kind of the go, go, go.
But theirs is more about the theming and the storytelling throughout the ship.
Yes, they have activities.
They have things that you can do.
They have the kids club and they have Disney Entertainment.
But their cruises are more about the feel and the storytelling.
One of the things that they've done recently, though...
The newest ship, the Disney Adventure, is kind of changing things up a little bit for Disney.
It is Disney's largest ship.
And it has things like the Iron Cycle test run roller coaster on board.
Galaxy Spin, Toy Story Place with Woody and Jesse's Wild Slides, a Big Hero Arcade, and obviously tons of theme spaces, which Disney ships have in general.
But it has a ton of kind of big ticket items that is not always typical on a Disney cruise ship in comparison to Royal Caribbean.
As we talk about
the ships, it's just a testament to how popular cruising is right now.
