EP 1 | The Very Beginning, Our Story

Our story starts in 2017.

For this particular thing, specifically wine, Daniel and I both didn't really have any knowledge about wine.

In fact, Daniel, why don't you say what you're like, what was our knowledge of wine? The

extent of our knowledge of wine was we knew that there was red, there was white, anything that had bubbles was champagne as far as we were concerned.

And there was a mysterious thing known as port that we'd never tasted before.

And that's basically all we knew about.

It was pretty limited but we found ourselves in Israel in actually around this time in 2017 close to Rosh Hashanah and we had some friends that joined us who really like wine and so they asked us if we wanted to go wine tasting and of course we are down for an adventure.

We are down for trying something every time.

So we did.

We took off, and we went wine tasting in this very specific area of Israel called Samaria, which is in the central mountains of Wine Terroir on Israel's map.

Tried some really great wine that was surprising, actually.

I think before that wine tasting, I was like, oh, yeah, some wine is good, but...

Meh, not so much into it, but I really enjoyed it myself.

But honestly, outside of having some really cool encounters about why the winery started and some of the faith that the winery owners had in beginning their journeys, which was very impactful, It wasn't, it was just like, wow, that was good wine.

And we moved on with our life in a little bit of a way.

It was just kind of a, okay, that was so fun.

We had a great time and we moved on.

But one of our friends actually had an idea.

They changed our life.

He reached out to us and he said, you know, this was such a great trip.

It was an amazing time.

We had some really fun wine and good wine.

But this Israeli wine in general is not very accessible in the United States.

So...

Why don't we try to change that? And especially because, you know, we are Christians and coming from a Christian perspective, but a lot of the Christian world has no idea that Israel has wine.
