VCS Vol 2026 #38 with Aaron Krott

Well, the first one that we have queued up, Aaron, is Living 90 Proof.

And again, these three songs, folks, that you're going to hear tonight are all just terrific.

And you're going to hear that voice that needs no gain.

Tell us a little bit about the backstory on Living 90 Proof.

Yes, apparently I have an infatuation with songs and whiskey.

I've got my Bourbon Sons t-shirt on tonight, so

nothing wrong with that.

There's something appealing to me with the I've always liked ballads more than, than others.

And I like songs that really have a meaning to them, try to draw emotion.

And for some reason, I tend to lean to the kind of almost the negative emotion a little bit, the sad or the, you know, heartstrings kind of thing.

So, but, um, huge influence, Chris Stapleton, um, you know, so he writes a lot of songs, you know, down that, down that pipeline.

And, um, Um, I was actually writing a different song, which is also out on, uh, you know, all native streaming platforms, uh, called where the bottle lies.

And I wrote down a lyric, um, if you don't believe me, I'm living 90 proof.

And I was like, oh, that's just a whole nother song.

So I literally stopped writing the song I was writing and just completely just turned and wrote and wrote living 90 proof.

So from a lyric that I thought was too important to just have as a lyric.

I love it.

All

right.

Well, let's give this one a listen.

This is Aaron Kratt and Living 90 Proof.

Oh, yeah.

another rainy night in this one host town your memory fades as the whiskey burns down you have no idea the hell you put me through If you don't believe me, I'm living nightly prayer.

My only prayers these days are Jackie's tears.

I spend most every night right here in this bar.
