And it continued to be so for centuries down until about 200 years ago when it sort of faded out under the impact of, you know, the new colonial culture and English education.
So all the sons and grandsons of the great pundits, they went to English schools and colleges and they forgot all the Sanskrit learning.
The philosopher Janardhan Ganeer, who gave a talk here a few years back, He has written a book on the decline and disappearance of the culture of philosophy in Navadvip.
Nyaya is one of the schools of Indian philosophy and they specialize in logic.
And Navya Nyaya especially, it became, it's called the school of Neo-logic.
It started not in Navadvipa, in a place called Mithila, which is in Bihar.
And Gangesh, a great logician who lived about a thousand years ago, he wrote a masterpiece, Tatva Chintamani.
