and there were so many unknowns it was the starting at six going through the night trying to spend all day in a kind of low state, but also being switched on enough not to mess anything up,
to
get to places on time.
So we had a fairly early lunch.
Registration, super smooth.
There was a big line of 50 runners waiting to be registered.
registered um and then they were letting hundreds sort of sneak through and have a bit of a fast track i i passed the kit check um and got my registration done by actually someone from one of the local running clubs from the roadrunners Which
is impressive, considering
the geographic...
There's
not many Southerners up there.
And then the next couple of hours are just sort of nervously waiting in anticipation.
Then you arrived.
I did.
Which was excellent.
Because we weren't certain that you were going to be able to make it before setting off.
So that was lovely.
And then we've got the briefing.
Now, the briefing for Lakeland is unlike a regular race
briefing.
Okay.
So it was a whole mass of us crammed into the school hall.
Mm-hmm.
sat down like we're in assembly again on the kind of gym floor, cross-legged.
