*It’s Type 1 Diabetes - Real Life - but with Real Laughs too.* Today on Type 1 John: Flu jabs. Covid Jabs. A safety orange. My car needs all new brakes. AND, I’m talking to Richard, who has been…
How are you? You all right then? Tuesdays and Thursdays we're doing it, and thank you so much.
By the way, we were trending for the last episode.
I don't know what's happened.
Lots of people piled on and have been tuning in.
Thank you.
You don't tune into a podcast, do you? That's my old radio days.
You download or stream, but thank you.
However you are listening to this, genuinely, thank you.
It just started out as a little thing, a little project for me to try and motivate myself with my diabetes, and now it's sort of grown into something quite different, and lots of people reaching out, and I really appreciate it, and it makes me feel a little bit silly.
Blood sugars levels right now, just a quick check-in, it's 7.3. Last three days, 79% in range.
And happiness index, I'll give, give myself 77 out of 100.
I've just walked back from dropping my car off at the garage, that it needs, um, brakes all around, pads and discs.
Thanks for asking.
I'll let you know how much it costs.
But it was, um, a two-mile walk.
It was a bit uphill, so I bought some oranges from the shop on the way, as I could see that I wasn't, didn't quite not have enough sugar on board to make it home in one piece.
I also had, uh, my flu jab on the way home at the doctor's, and interestingly, they're not doing COVID jabs for T1Ds around here this year.
And I did a COVID test yesterday.
By the way, I've still got the man flu.
The nurse, just before she gave me my flu jab this morning said, "And are you well?" And I said, "Not really" [laughs].
And I told her about my man flu, and she wasn't interested, just like my wife isn't.
Um, yeah, COVID te- test yesterday because I'm gonna go and see my mum at the weekend, and I've had this man flu now for 10 days, and it's not going away.
And lots of people saying, "Oh, there's loads of COVID about.
Have you seen?" And trying to get a COVID test, I had to go to [laughs] three pharmacies.
I finally got one, £2.99, something like that, for one.
