Yeah.

Yeah, speaking of insulin pen, I would compare, um, Mounjaro and Zepbound to, like, Novolog and Humalog.

Oh.

Like, merely identical, but-

This is the typical mealtime insulin that we use in type 1 diabetes to cover meals, including high carbohydrate meals.

So rapid-acting insulins can be Novolog, Novorapid, Humalog, Fiasp, for example, and they start working quickly, within about 10 to 15 minutes.

They peak at about the one- to three-hour mark, and they're usually out of the body within three to five hours.

When we overlay this insulin's time action profile with the glucose pattern from protein, that timing, you can see, doesn't really match very well.

Why didn't they? Did you not have a script?

They sent the prescriptions in, but they didn't have the... junior pens, the Humalog junior pens in stock.

So I had to find a new pharmacy for that.

And then my insurance didn't cover Lantus.

I like to give the analogy of the pizza delivery guy.

So your Nova Rapid or Humalog, the pizza is arriving, you know, on the proverbial scooter.

But with Liam Jeff or Fiasp, it's arriving in a Ferrari.

So it's the same pizza.

It's not that it's

different insulin, it's the same.

Fundamentally, Liam Jebb is Humalog and Fiasp is Novorapid, and it's just getting there

faster.

But I never really... pre-bolused.

At least not the whole entire time frame that I should have pre-bolused based off of the duration or what I call the activation of the insulin that I was taking, which was Novolog and Humalog at the time.

And then we fast forward to today.

Diabetes confessions, people, I still don't pre-boluse all the time.

It's insane when you really think about it.

But yeah, diabetes is still hard.

Even though it's a great time to be a diabetic, it's still, who wants to be a type 1 diabetic? So when we think about the concept of pre-balancing, right? I'm going to talk, I'm going to give you a couple examples of why this is important, right? So Let's just take Novolog and Humalog because that's what pretty much so many people, so many people are on those two insulins because they're like the insulin that you get when you're first diagnosed.

And a lot of people don't know that there's even other options.

So this includes NPH, trade names, protocyanin, and humulin NPH, as well as regular human insulin, which is actrapid.

So a number of the insulin analogues have been tested specifically in pregnancy, and these include Novirapid, Humalog, and Levimere.

Now, these pregnancy category B3 are much less commonly used, include Optisilin, Tujara, Rizodeg, and Apidra.

So I've put a little star next to Protofane.

Isn't that our recently changing endos? Maybe some confusion at the pharmacy.

They send me like one vial of Humalog.

that got mixed up with, it's supposed to be like 10 pens, right? And I end up getting one glass vial of Humalog and I'm like, oh my God.

So have you ever pulled emergency needles out of just a bunch of insulin and left like insulin? Okay.

No, no, because I always had the vial.

I always had the vial.

No, no, no.

I mean, in a vial situation where like, I didn't want to, I didn't want to, I didn't want to, I don't even want to test the waters of leaving with this vial, or maybe it's during the summer and it's hot, so you just pull a bunch of needles of Humalog and throw them in the fridge.

They're, they're basically, they're 100% team long-acting insulin.

And then I have guys on here that say long-acting insulin is the surefire way to create problems, and it's Humalog or Novolog only.

I've always had the most success with fast-acting insulin.

I find it to be phenomenal when leveraged correctly.
