When Emunah Becomes an Excuse: Faith, Hishtadlut, and Human Responsibility

There are a series of questions addressed by David Lichtenstein,

which all

basically

boil down to, like, what's going to

happen 25 years from now? We know that the Haredi community is growing by leaps and bounds.

It grows exponentially.

Not true of any other community.

In the space of a couple of years, we expect like 35, 40% of the incoming first graders to be in the Haredi community.

None of them I shouldn't say none of them.

That's not true.

But many of them are not getting any secular education or any meaningful secular education.

They're not getting English and math.

And we know that there is a grievous lack of manpower in Sahel.

We're much more aware of the dangers that we're living with every day.

And we have our reserve is strapped out, serving unbelievable number of days.

And the Khoury community has not been contributing anything to that.

There's a lot to speak about there.

But one thing that Pindar said was that I'm comfortable not answering that question of what the country is going to look like, both economically and militarily.

He said, can anybody explain October 7th? It's inexplicable.

There's no way of understanding it.

It's beyond human comprehension.

How billions of shekels were spent on a system that was supposed to protect us and then didn't.

Clearly, events in the Middle East don't make any sense.

They don't have to make sense.
