Olam Hatorah

There may be more non-Haredim today who believe in this than Haredim.

It's one of the reasons why I react so strongly when the Haredi world refers to itself as the Olam HaTorah.

What? Do Haredim have a monopoly on Olam HaTorah? We can debate, you know, which derech of learning and drachm of learning.

Do anybody have any clue? Any reason to believe that somehow Torah learned in Hever Napanavish is more important or more precious to HaKadosh Baruch Hu, to Torah learned in hundreds of different Datil Umi Yeshivot today? But what we all agree about is that HaKadosh Baruch Hu loves Torah and wants Torah.

And because of that, some of us believe that, yes, those people who are sincerely learning full time, it is in the interest of Klang Yisrael and of the state to keep a cadre of people like that going.
