Episode 13 • Gilding the Lily Allen

How am I doing so far?

You're doing great.

I didn't even remember [laughs] that we-

[laughs] Yeah, yeah

...

I didn't realize we'd seen those

That we did any of those things.

Okay.

Hello, menopause.

Yes.

Uh, earlier in the week we saw Lily Allen perform West End Girl in its entirety at Radio City-

At Radio City Music Hall

...

Music Hall, which a place, I mean, other than [laughs] going to the Christmas Spectacular, uh, with you last year, I had never seen a show there before.

Yeah, I believe I've actually never seen a show there either except for the Christmas Spectacular, like pretty much yearly for the last 30 years.

I mean, we don't have to tell you, it's one of the premier performance venues in New York, if not the world.

It's just such a beautiful hall.

It's, it's so art deco and it's so New York, and it's just so lovely.

And, um, so the... we, we decided that we wanted to, to see the Lily Allen show there as opposed to Madison Square, where I believe she's also playing.

She's also playing, correct.

Yeah.

Uh, because it would be somewhat more intimate, and we both love the record.

We both love the record.

Uh, I have loved her since her very first record, and obviously, and this is part of our narrative that we wanna talk about today, we have followed a bit of the saga of Ms. Allen's personal life in recent years.

Partly because she, like us, met her husband, uh, on Raya.
