As always, thank you for hanging out and remembering Tiana Angelique Notice with me today. On February 14, 2009, 25-year-old Tiana Notice, a University of Hartford graduate student, was murdered by…
I want to start this video off with a quote, and this is a quote from the prosecutor, the prosecutor who would later prosecute Tiana's murderer.
The prosecutor said, and I quote, "It's the oldest motive in the world.
If he couldn't have her, nobody could have her.
He was planning this all along.
Tragically, he completed his mission.
His mission was murder." So our story takes place on February 14, 2009, Valentine's Day.
She wasn't planning to actually stay there that night, even though, you know, it was her home.
She had been having some issues, so she was planning to just make a quick stop, grab some items, grab some laundry, and then head to her mother's for the weekend so that they could spend some time together, she could get some distance from her apartment, and just kind of, you know, have a nice time with her mother, some time that she very much needed because she had been under a lot of stress recently.
But this stop home would turn out to be a very big mistake.
Not a mistake on her part, because she couldn't know what was going to happen to her, and there...
It wasn't a wrong place, wrong time situation because this was her place.
It was her right to be in her place and to feel safe in her home.
But when she got there, she was attacked viciously by a man lying in wait with a knife.
During her attack, obviously, Tiana started to scream, and the sound of her voice brought neighbors out to, one, see what was going on, and two, to render aid to her.
And when they came outside, they saw a vehicle tear off, driving super fast away from the scene, and they found Tiana lying in the ground covered in blood.
Even though she had been stabbed multiple times, she had the strength within her to pull out her phone and call 911 herself, telling the operator on the other line that she had been stabbed and she was bleeding to death.
By the time police and paramedics arrived on the scene, Tiana was already unconscious, so they loaded her in an ambulance and they rushed her to the hospital.
But it was too late.
There was no way they could help her, so by the time her parents got there, 'cause they received a call letting them know that she had been attacked, and they showed up at the hospital, they were told by the doctors that they tried everything they could do, but she had just lost too much blood, and she was pronounced dead at 11:45 PM.
Now, before we get into the specifics of what happened here and the aftermath of her murder, I first wanna talk about who Tiana was and how we got here in the first place.
