the next song is called what is love the idea of it is that we are all of us expressions of a greater reality man's delusion is that he creates these realities man's delusion is that if it weren't for his own particular manifestation of love, man as a whole, love would not exist.

But the truth is that every consciousness that we can express is already a fact of the universe, or we would not be able to express it.

And thus it is that we see that there is a justification for a belief in a greater consciousness than our own, It's like a great ocean that comes up at various points like waves in each one of us.

but it also gives us the understanding that inasmuch as we express a part of that, if we would get within ourselves instead of seeking outward, we would be able to draw more of that into our lives, into our consciousness, and that we can attune ourselves with that infinite reality and ultimately become one with it.
love? Is it only ours? Or does love, whispering the flowers, Surely we, children of this world Could not love by our own powers What is joy? Is it just a dream? Or does joy laugh in every stream? Are the clouds mindless after all? For His joy all natures be.

I wrote these songs years ago because I realized what a very wonderful medium songs are, music is.

One day, many years ago, I was driving to make an appointment, and I was going through a very heavy rainstorm.

It was difficult to see ahead, even 50 feet, which meant that I couldn't drive nearly as quickly as I needed to, and I was getting later and later, and getting more and more frustrated.

And suddenly I thought, well, why should I be frustrated at something I can't help? If I can't have good weather outside, I decided, I can at least create my own good weather inside.

And fortunately, there was no California Highway Patrol watching me because I was writing the song down as I drove through this rainstorm.

There's joy in the heavens, the smile of the mountains, and melody sings everywhere.
