Hello, fellow travelers.
Hey, Squadies.
Welcome to this week's episode of the Travel Squad Podcast.
Today, we are taking you to Lake Clark National Park in Alaska, and previously we've mentioned in past episodes that we have a bucket list goal of visiting all 63 national parks in the United States, and Lake Clark National Park mark number 56 for us.
Really excited to be talking about Lake Clark National Park in Alaska, because it is a park that you can only get to by boat or plane.
And so logistically, there's a lot more going on to get here and plan this trip, and we're gonna talk about all of the different ways that you can get there.
And so this episode can pretty much be used as a guide.
And Lake Clark, what draws us to it is the coastal brown bear viewing.
It's one of the places in Alaska, like you're pretty much guaranteed to see coastal brown bears during summer.
Yeah, and the brown bear viewing was an absolute highlight for us, something that we really, really wanted to do.
They are abundant here.
But before we get into tips, giving you all the options of ways to get to Lake Clark and what to do, and then of course recapping what we did, I wanna tell you guys a little bit about Lake Clark, a little bit more information than Brittany already shared.
So Lake Clark National Park and Preserve is one of Alaska's most remote and least visited national parks, but it's home to one of the state's most unforgettable wildlife experiences, which is what you said, Brittany, watching the brown bears in their natural habitat.
So visitors come from around the world to see these massive brown bears roaming the beaches, digging for clams, grazing on the sedge grass meadows, catching salmon in the rivers, all with the dramatic backdrop of snow-capped mountains and glaciers.
And beyond the bear viewing, Lake Clark offers pristine lakes.
Of course, Lake Clark, it's in the name.
There's tons of them, but Lake Clark is one of the largest ones in there.
Active volcanoes and endless wilderness that could only be reached by bush plane or boat.
So in this episode, we're sharing everything that you need to know to plan your visit to Lake Clark and why this hidden gem deserves a spot on your Alaska itinerary and must-dos.
Yeah, I'm so excited to get into this episode because it truly was a bucket list experience, and as I'm gonna say in, in the episode, there was a point in time while we were there that I was like, wow, this is such a core memory, and I'm gonna always remember it.
It was just so surreal.
And I hope if you guys go, you have the same experience.
