So this one is Kenai Fjords National Park.

And initially we were thinking we might actually take a kayak tour through this, which would have been so epic.

But the weather was horrible.

And I'm actually so glad we didn't book it because we would not have been able to go with the swells the way they were.

We booked this through.

Kenai Fjords Tours is what it was called it's very easy to find this company they're kind of the main ones Kenai Fjords is almost entirely inaccessible by any means but boat and airplane there is one area which we ended up going to where you can drive to a little visitor center and then you can hike in a little ways but you cannot drive in at all and so it is almost entirely just untouched wilderness and so we wanted to see it from the water and we booked a full I think it was supposed to be nine hours that takes you deep into Kenai Fjords National Park it's supposed to take you to like some of the most epic sea glaciers you've ever seen you're supposed to potentially be able to hear them calving and see them breaking and the way that this was described to us was like this is going to be the most epic thing you've ever seen You've never seen untouched land the way you'll see it.

The wildlife.

Sometimes it's number two.

I go back and forth between Wrangell and Kenai Fjords.

Yeah.

We had two amazing experiences in both of them.

Yeah.

I don't know.

In my head, I'm kind of the same where I love both Wrangell St. Elias and Kenai Fjords so much.

Yeah.

I did a lot of interpretation on board boats.

And so I was on a boat with a... a group of German scientists, they were visiting Anchorage and they were there for this conference and they had taken the opportunity to go out on a boat tour at Kenai Fjords National Park, which is just some of the best money you can ever spend in Alaska is to go out on those boat tours.

So we were coming back in and I had made sort of a concluding statement about the kinds of things people had seen that day and how climate change was affecting things and where people could learn more and, you know, the whole bit.

And then I was continuing my conversation with these folks and a visitor came up and he was so angry, he was shaking and he could hardly speak.

with that.

Because as we all know, reason and logic doesn't necessarily change minds, right? So you have to do it in other ways.

I had a really interesting experience, which I actually wrote about in Legacy, that was at Kenai Fjords National Park again.

And I was out for a walk.

Just ...

No, it was in the Kenai Fjords.

Oh.

It was, like, kind of, like, by Seward, Alaska.

Yeah, yeah, Kenai Fjords.

Yeah.

Um, and it was, like, we did some camping and then stayed in this old, like, kind of like, I think it was, like, a World War I, like, lookout tower or something-

But the most spiritually impactful moment for us took place right here.

This is Kenai Fjords National Park.

the coastal area of South Central Alaska.

And I'm somebody who gets pretty seasick, so I almost didn't want to do this boat cruise.
