Good morning, everybody, and welcome to Travel & Cruise Industry News for Wednesday, October 14, 2026! We've got a busy morning in the cruise industry, and unfortunately, Mother Nature is once again…
Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas is operating a seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise from Los Angeles, but the itinerary has undergone multiple changes.
Originally, passengers were expecting visits to Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.
Unfortunately, storms Rachel and Simon had other ideas.
Catalina Island and Mazatlán were removed from the schedule, and now Royal Caribbean has canceled Puerto Vallarta as well.
Instead, Voyager of the Seas is making a second visit to Cabo San Lucas, giving passengers another full day in that popular destination.
The cruise line says the decision was made after its captain and meteorology team reviewed the worsening forecast.
Passengers are also receiving refunds for prepaid Royal Caribbean shore excursions canceled in Puerto Vallarta, credited to their onboard accounts.
Now, Cabo San Lucas is a wonderful place to visit, but when you book a cruise with four different destinations and end up losing three of them, that's a major change to your vacation.
The good news is that Royal Caribbean is keeping its ship and passengers away from dangerous weather, and that's always the right decision.
