I don't know how much you recall the history of Khalil, of Hebron, but this is exactly how the Israeli settlers began the establishment of the settlement of Kiryat Arba, which is that they, in 1968, came into Khalil, into the old city.
They disguised themselves as as Swiss tourists under there was a rabbi who had led them and refused to leave.
And it was only after a very long and very protracted negotiation with the state that the then settlers were then able to establish the settlement of Kiryat Arba, which is right next to the Palestinian city of Al Khalil.
And that's when eventually the Israeli settlers then left, only to then come back at a later date, which is why we have both the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba as well as... what they've done in the old city.
And so slowly we've been seeing this same pattern, as you already mentioned in other places, playing itself out where we see that the West Bank, it's become literally a house by house protection mechanism where each person is forced to literally try to defend their own home from these invading attackers being these settlers.
And so the fear, of course, is that this is where, this is the path along which we are going.
Knowing this Do you have a message for not just the Americans, but for others as well? Because I don't think this is just a question of one American citizen, but a bigger picture overall.
Is there something that you want people to know or a message that you want to send to people?
Well, it's known now that the settlers trying to change the status quo of the Palestinian land and houses, as you know, where my house is designated in Area B.
They started with Area Cs, now they're going into Area Bs, and now even probably As.
What's happening to me, it's happening to hundreds, probably thousands of Palestinians in the entire West Bank.
We ask the international community, the US officials to bring justice to the Palestinians in their own land, in their own houses.
because a lot of Palestinians become homeless because of those settlers force them out of their own houses.
