Episode 5: Bittersweet Endings

[upbeat music] You've been uncovered, you've been discovered, you are on blast.

Anytime you want to put a family member on blast, there's gonna be some drama.

Chloe, you're 20 years old, and you wanna put your dad on blast.

Now, why do you wanna do that?

I was dating the absolute love of my life, Chad.

Mm-hmm.

And okay, yeah, he was a little rough around the edges, but we were happy.

And then, like all of a sudden, he just vanishes off the face of the earth.

Oh.

Gone.

Okay.

So what does your dad have to do with some dude ghosting you?

Well, some context.

Chad didn't really ghost me.

Um, he said his soul was being called to like a silent retreat in Montana for, let me think, um, a corporate spiritual alignment.

[laughs] What in the hell does that even mean, a corporate spiritual alignment?

I don't know.

It sounds like [beep].

Um, that's not something that Chad would do, knowing him.

I feel like he was instructed to say those things.

Mm-hmm.

Um, because he's a free spirit, you know, like an entrepreneur, a dreamer.

That's what he always called himself.

So that's why I think that my dad is involved.

It just seems really fishy.
