What does it actually look like to show up online as an introvert, a perfectionist, and a recovering overthinker... without it feeling icky or forced? In this episode, I'm joined by current Launch…
And so as far as confidently messy, was that, like, straight out the gate you were like, "This is the thing"? Or, like, how did you find-
... your... 'Cause that's what people are always asking me, especially with- ... developing offers, which we do in Launch Your Own Way, is like-
... what's my point of view? How do I figure it out? So I'd love to hear your trajectory to that, um-
Um, I got to a point where I was just, I was trying to figure out how to show up online and build my business, and I couldn't figure out how to do it in a way that felt good.
Like, I was looking at how other business owners were doing it or how we'd been doing it since 2019, since I started, you know, posting on Instagram.
And I was like, "I just don't like how that feels, and also it's doesn't seem to be working anymore.
This isn't going to continue to work to be posting, you know, eight reasons why you should hire a brand designer anymore." Like, we've seen that 800 times already, you know? Um, [smacks lips] and then I was looking at, like, lifestyle creators and I'm like, "I feel like there's some interesting stuff with that, but, you know, I still wanna be a business owner.
Like, I don't wanna be a lifestyle influencer." So how can I try and find the, uh, amalgamation of those things that feels right for me where I feel like I can show up as a human and a business owner in the same, you know, realm, and not feel like I'm...
You know, again, I was, I had my business on the side and I was working corporate marketing, and so I already felt like I'd been splitting myself into 20 different pieces for so many years, and I was really eager to just, like, how can I just put it all together and, like, be a multi-passionate human who's, like, showing up as a human and making that work for me and my business? And so I actually started a little, like, 30-day challenge for myself, and I just called it the Confidently Messy Challenge, and it was just the name of what I called the thing that I was doing, and it wasn't, I didn't expect it to become really anything other than I, again, I'm trying to build this business that I've decided to go full time in, and my perfectionism and my overthinking is getting so much in the way of me just, like, taking action and doing things and trying stuff.
And so, um, literally I just called that challenge my, you know, 30 days of being confidently messy in my business where I'm gonna just pitch myself or post things or do things without overthinking it, and then it kind of caught on out of nowhere and I didn't expect it at all.
Yeah, you did something that I tell a lot of people to do, which is basically, like, working in public, like doing something-
... accountable and also to get the clarity that you're seeking because it's not gonna come from-
