The United Soccer Coaches Podcast – August 27, 2026

Welcome back to the August edition of the United Soccer Coaches podcast, the United Soccer Coaches Foundation.

Boy, they do great work.

They opened their annual scholarship applications on August 3rd, so a few weeks ago, and it'll run through September 30th, 1159 p.m., and you want to get it in, and you want to do it quickly.

The current scholarships and grant opportunities are fantastic.

the convention scholarships, the education scholarships, the host of course grants, and we'll talk about the basic requirements and maybe even learn about a new fund called the Janet Rayfield Fund.

And we'll do that all with a familiar guest, for United Soccer Coaches and a true friend, not only to the association, but soccer in general.

I call him the Dapper Dandy as he looks great.

He is the secretary and chairman of the awards committee for the United Soccer Coaches Foundation.

Of course, I'm talking about the great Ralph Poulsen.

Ralph, welcome back to the United Soccer

Coaches podcast.

Dean, excited to be back.

Thank you.

This is always one of my favorite times of the year.

I look forward to this podcast and I also look forward to this time of the year where we are preparing to award scholarships through the foundation to folks that have applied.

So good

time.

Perfect time.

And yet, you know, the window is short, but we wanted to open with you.

So this is the first thing everybody hears, especially knowing that the deadline is the end of September.

So they've got just a little over a month to get it in, Ralph.

And I mean, that's coming up quick.

So tell everybody why they got to hustle

and get it done.

As you mentioned, we offer three types of scholarships or grants with the convention scholarship, which is the most popular.
