307: Does God Need my Money?

And today's our topic is, does God need

my money? What a great question.

Well, let me just ask you guys right now, if God appeared to you today and said, I don't really need your money, what would you do? How would that land in your heart and in your mind? That's something that we need to process here.

That reaction that we have when we think about that is one that makes total sense because we feel two different things, maybe a relief, maybe it's a why.

But that big question is, why should I give? Why? God doesn't need my money.

That may be something that's going on in the heart and mind.

Or maybe you're thinking, I can only give a little bit at this time.

It doesn't really move the needle when it comes to my generosity.

In fact, I've heard this said, well, I need the money more than God does.

The real question isn't whether God needs your money.

The real question is, Do I need to give it away, what God has put into my care? Because giving does something very profound and different in us.

Tim says this often in our podcast in a good way, and that is it breaks the power that money has over us.

It breaks that bond that that hold that it has on us.

And we need to be generous.

And in our generosity, it's one of the most loving things we can do that God invites us to be a part of so that we can help grow the kingdom of God and see others flourish in their walk with the Lord.

Does God really need my money? And unpack Not what we think, but what does the Word of God say pertaining to this topic moving forward? Now, we want to lay a groundwork, scriptural foundation on this as we get moving, and that is that God owns everything.

So who wants to jump in and start with that first verse?
