Now, luckily for Spencer Lull, he's in the US, but if you- unless you've been living under a rock, you've been hearing about what's been going on with Fender over the last, is it two, three weeks or something now? Basically, they've sent out a bunch of cease and des- desist letters out to makers in Europe, um, that are, have been making Strat-style bodies for their instruments.
They've sent them out with a cease and desist, um, asking them to, uh, settle, and also asking them to, uh, destroy inventory.
They've been reaching out to people like Thomann, asking them to destroy, destroy inventory of Strat-style instruments that aren't, that haven't been built by Fender.
I guess the, my take on it so far is, [laughs] is that this sort of, like, outrage.
YouTuber under the s- My dad even thought about becoming a Fend- like a, a guitar YouTuber to make [laughs] a video on it.
Um, but yeah, everybody's talking about this, and my, my mind went in two directions.
And then I also thought about all of the manufacturers on, on the guitar side of the Strats.
You know, LSL, I think, were the first company that came out and said something, but all of the other brands as well, like Xotic came to mind.
