10/14/26 - Thompson defends property tax bill, Shirk recalls coffin escapes and radio greatness

And that is yesterday.

We start with I went to a forum at the Brownsburg Public Library.

And it featured two state representatives, State Representative Becky Cash, who represents Zionsville and parts of Brownsburg, and Jeff Thompson, who is the head of Ways and Means, who controls the money.

He also represents parts of Brownsburg and the western part of Hendricks County.

And let's not kid ourselves what they were doing here.

This was an event put on by the Hendricks County Young Republicans.

And that was very nice of them to do.

The Hendricks County Republican Party Chairman Phil Clay was there.

And I greeted him by telling him, can't ban me from the library, Phil.

Ha ha! That's fine.

They had a forum and they're doing this because both of these people have challengers in their elections this fall.

And in the case of Becky Cash, there's a pretty good chance she's going down.

And so one of the big controversies in this district has been the state legislatures.

And we laid this out for you.

We had the assistant superintendent, Shane Hacker, on the show, their treatment of the Brownsburg school system and just the nonsensical way the school funding formula works.

And the unwillingness to allow like basic accounting procedures to save everybody money.

And so a lot of people are really upset.

Don't kid yourself.

These people don't actually give a damn about the people where I live.

They're doing this because they're less than a month away from an election and they're worried there's going to be repercussion.

Which, fine.

I'm not mad.

And it's good of the young Republicans to put the event on.

Good on them.

It was a well-organized event.
